Weekend in Kentucky

Last weekend I went to Kentucky to visit my sister and her family. I got on the road around 4:00 am Saturday morning. Here are a few pictures of the mountains as the sun was coming up. I was getting tired so I decided to stop for a few minutes and take some pictures of the beautiful view.

When I got there we ate lunch and then loaded up the boat to head out fishing. It was such a pretty day to be out on the lake. Below is my sister, Amy.
This is Miclaya, my niece.

Here are pictures that Miclaya took of the pretty view on the lake. She took several that day.

This is my brother-in-law, Clay, catching the big one!
(The line was actually caught on a limb in the water.)
These are pictures from my drive home on Sunday. They are from Cherokee National Forest. I really enjoyed the drive home. The weather was perfect for a drive with the windows down. Something funny that happened, I was following the directions that my GPS was giving me so I was not familiar with the way I was going. I was just driving along and I saw a sign that said "Welcome to North Carolina". My fist thought was "I don't think I am supposed to be driving through NC," I had one of the moments of not knowing exactly where I was and I did not have any phone service. Not a good felling! But luckily I had a map that my mom got me when I first moved here. I looked at that and realized that I was only about an hour and a half from my cousin's house. It was one of those things that I had to laugh about. Anyway, I had a great time that weekend. I can't wait to go back for another visit.

What's new here!

Brad, Erin, Caleb, and Sophie came home last Saturday. They were all very happy to be home. After Caleb gave everyone hugs, he headed out to the back porch to ride his bike.
Above is a picture of Sophie and I that day. She is so tiny! She still fits into some preemie clothes.
Another new things going on here is Michael (my cousin/roommate) got a dog. I can't remember what kind he is but he is small. Michael named him Rascoe. He is really cute.
Anyway, other than Rascoe and Sophie there is nothing really new going on here.

Other things going on!

Yesterday Erin and Brad (my cousin and her husband) left for Florida. They have been waiting for the baby they are adopting to be born. Sophia Virginia Raffray was born today. I'm not exactly sure what time. She was 5 lbs 11 oz and 18" long. Erin said that she has a head full of straight black hair. They have not been able to send any picture yet. Erin said that Sophie and her birth mom are doing great.

Also, some more good news is that Amy (my older sister) is pregnant. She is due April 13th. Miclaya (my neice) is very excited about becoming a big sister. The whole family is excited.

Going back to Raleigh

Last weekend I went back to Raleigh to visit with friends and family. On Saturday I spent most of the day with Annette, Jeremy, Austin and Alyssa. Above is Alyssa. She went shopping with me and Annette.

Later on that afternoon we went to the driving range. There is a little snowball place right by the driving range called Pelicans. (That is one of the best parts of going to the driving range there!)

Above is me! I'm not any good, but I have a lot of fun!

This is Austin. He did really good that day.
Alyssa was so cute. She was using clubs that were too big.
This is Jeremy.
This is Annette.

Saturday night Carol Leigh had some of her friends over for a cookout.
It was a very busy weekend but I enjoyed getting to see my friends and some of my family.
